Riding & Horsemanship
Offering trail rides and riding lessons tailored to every level of experience.

Horsemanship Lessons
Work with Mac MaKenny to deepen your understanding of how horses think, respond, and move. These sessions focus on developing timing, feel, and clear communication, rather than relying on force or habit.
Instruction is offered one-on-one or in small groups and is grounded in careful observation and practical decision-making. You’ll work on body awareness, intention, and consistency while handling horses on the ground and navigating real situations on the trail.
The focus is on understanding why a horse responds the way it does, so each interaction becomes clearer, quieter, and more effective.
Lessons begin at 10 AM or 2 PM. Plan for approximately 2–2.5 hours including riding.

The Foothills Trail Ride
The journey begins in the quiet of the arena, where the world slows down. Here, you’ll find your balance and learn the subtle language of cues—mounting, leading, and settling into the rhythm of your horse before we ever leave the gate.
Once on the trail, the experience opens into a sensory immersion: the scent of mountain meadows, the sound of hoofbeats on soft earth, and spectacular, unhurried vistas of the Canadian Rockies. This is a ride defined by connection, not just recreation.

The Cowboy Way
While safety comes first, tradition is a close second. Cowboy hats, boots, and denim aren't just allowed—they’re encouraged. Step into the spirit of the foothills; we've been dressing this way since 1974.
