Special Adventure Events...
NEW Program!
Horse & Personal Awareness Weekend
All of May 2010 (Friday - Sunday)
Have you ever wanted to learn more about horses, and possibly yourself? Join us at the Homeplace Ranch for 2 nights and 3 days - and experience a quiet get away in the foothills Southwest of Calgary (secluded but not too far away).
Designed specifically for people who want to know more about themselves and horses. You will come away from the weekend knowing much more about everything from horse anatomy and bits and saddles, to horse psychology and how the horses's energy responds to you body language. You will also depart with added confidence in your riding skills and knowledge of yourself.
This is not intended to be an intense experience but rather an enjoyable and non-invasive introduction to horse and human psychology and partnership. This is an opportunity to understand "joining up" with a horse, and as well as what it might tell you about your relationships with others.
The horses you work with will be chosen specially for you based on your horse experience and desires.
Arrival at the ranch will be Friday afternoon between 3 and 6, followed by dinner and then a wine social when we will discuss the program for the next 2 days. You will stay in the "Horseman's Lodge" featuring comfortable private rooms (double occupancy possible) with private attached bathroom. Tracey will cook healthy home made meals using mainly locally grown foods. Meals will be served family style around the dining table, with the exception of the Saturday evening's open fire barbecue dinner.

Trail Clearing Weeks
(2 nite / 3 days $466 Cdn pp or 6 nites/ 7 days $1206
Cdn pp)
All of May 2010
Get out of the gym and away from
the bikepaths for a workout of 3 to 7 days throughout May.
Our trails are challenging and need clearing. The work is rewarding and
the air refreshing. This week is not for the faint of heart and
requires that you be able to leap as nimble as a bird in and out of
the saddle as we remove winter deadfall and debris from the trails or
correct erosion problems. If your idea of a workout means you don't
mind getting dirty and like to reward your efforts with a hearty meal and
the thought of being serenaded to sleep by coyotes while in a comfy bed...
Then this is for you.
